Winner of the Skeptoid Party Tickets Contest

by Brian Dunning, Mar 26 2009

Congratulations to Roy Natian who won two free tickets to the Skeptoid 150th Episode Party on April 18th at the University of California, Irvine. Entrants submitted a YouTube video telling why critical thinking is important, and Roy’s name was randomly drawn from all entrants. Here is his video:

One other entry by Tavis Beem deserves “Honorable Mention”, since we liked it. Tavis wins half-price tickets, which was unannounced, but since his effort was a fine one he gets the secret prize:

I do think it’s pretty humorous that in both of these YouTube preview frames, both guys have the same facial expression. Some cliche about great minds is probably apropos here.

We hope all the other entrants will come to join us at the big party, and we hope you will too! Attendees will to experience, among multitudinous other attractions, the world premiere of the Secret Project from the Skeptoid skunkworks, which I worked my ass off on all day today, and so choose to reward myself with a gratuitous mention here.

  1. Congrats Roy. I hope you have fun!

I’m trying to be as cheery as humanly possible considering Battlestar Galactica has ended. *sniffle*

    Tavis,

Great video. I’m grateful that you will use your thinking to hone the skills of future researchers and decision makers. We can use the help!

  3. Roy says:

I love how Travis and I both have Flim Flam and The Demon Haunted World in the background on our shelves.

Roy and Tavis….great videos (I actually liked Tavis better—maybe because I’m partial to teachers!)! I did notice the similarities in the backgrounds they chose too!
