I see the reverse of this reasoning with Fox cable advocates. They point out that there is some good reporting during their newscast,so they think that the demagoguery that they also spew during the rest of the day is also valid.

False association. A HIV denier can still see that the sky is blue, and say so correctly, without his wrong beliefs coming into play.
The Huffington post loses reputation for bad stories, and we don't trust it. Instead, you verify what you read. I've seen good articles and bad.

If you think that Huffpo is an "online news source" then I think you need to have your skeptic license re-evaluated.

Regarding the spurious 'link' between allergy shots and homeopathy, I think you're missing the most obvious debunking: What amount of active ingredient is in the weakest allergy shot commonly used? How does that compare to the least dilute homeopathic 'remedy' in active use? Or rather, how many orders of magnitude weaker is it? That alone should be enough to demonstrate they're not comparable.

Also remember that Michael Savage is anti-vaccine and has published at least one book on homeopathy and others on alternative medicine.

The funny thing about the analogy between homeopathy and allergy shots is that a similar analogy can be drawn between homeopathy and vaccines, yet homeopaths are generally against vaccines. I'm a little surprised that Ullman is not against allergy shots.

Well to be fair, littlegreenfootballs has been a bastion of reality-based thinking in the conservative blogosphere for quite some time now, even when it hasn't been the popular thing for them to do, among their hardcore conservative readers.

It's good to point out the people who are reality-based, even if we may disagree on politics.

Since people are already politicising the comments I might want to add the following in response:
Left, right, who cares! Thinking in an old-fashioned left-right dichotomy is for idiots.

Now back to subject: how many more trials do we need to undertake before people finally realise that this is all bunk, especially since there is no know mechanism for homeopathy to work? Show me hard evidence for water-memory and I might reconsider my position. For now, spend those research grants on some real science!
