For anyone who is interested in commercial versions of the songs, an iMix is now available here. This includes seven of the 12 songs from the Skeptics Mix Tape (those which happen to also be sold on iTunes, such as the uncut version of Hard ‘n Phirm’s “Carbon Cycle”).

The “Parental Advisory” notes will be unnecessary for most listeners, but the project is hosted in the Junior Skeptic wing of Skeptic.com. As the collection is likely to be made use of by teachers and kids, we felt clear descriptions of any possible controversial content was worth the small effort.

Got to say I find the Parental Advisory notes amusing, patronising and somewhat unnecessary, for instance “mild criticism of Darwin’s contemporary opponents, including religious thinkers”. Come on – its downloaded from skeptic.com for goodness sake!!

And whereas its very thoughtful of you to provide the cleaned-up radio edit of ‘Carbon Cycle’, where can I get the uncensored adult version? It seems the expunged words are pretty mild anyway – certainly compared to most of the foul-mouthed misogynist crap my kids usually listen to!
